Bull Publishing

Bull Publishing (www.bullpub.com), located in Boulder, Colorado, specializes in publishing books that foster health and well-being for people and their families.

Bull Publishing Company asked Foraker Design to redesign their existing website into one that would complement the high quality books they offered.

To start, Foraker recommended changes to the site's information architecture to help simplify navigation from the home page to deeper pages, and from deeper pages back to main category pages or the home page. These changes were also designed to bolster the site's search engine performance by establishing a clear, natural language link structure and tighter within-page content focus.

Foraker then addressed the look and feel of the website. Together with the client we worked through several rounds of concepts, and settled on a design that balances bold colors and custom illustrations with clear typography and obvious navigation.

Foraker Design codes all of its websites in standards-compliant HTML/CSS. Standards-compliant coding speeds download times, allows users to access the site via assistive technologies (e.g. screen readers), and lowers the cost of future updates. This approach also ensures consistent rendering on a wide variety of browsers and operating systems, and provides additional benefits to search engine rankings.
