Nurture Your Nature
Nurture Your Nature (www.nurtureyournature.org) is a joint project of the National Women's Health Resource Center (NWHRC) and the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals (ARHP). This site is designed to fill the current gap in information on women's sexuality for mid-life and older women.
One of the main requirements of this project was that the website be easy-to-use. It was considered essential that first-time visitors be able to quickly locate the many informational materials on women's sexual wellness that are available on the site. It also had to have a look and feel that was uncluttered and welcoming. Foraker worked closely with project staff to get these aspects right, balancing our expertise in Internet communications with the client's needs and desires. Having just completed an extensive redesign of NWHRC's website, Foraker was excited to develop this new project from the ground up.
In addition to the information architecture and aesthetic work on the site, Foraker developed a number of dynamic features that allow visitors to obtain additional information and easily share Nurture Your Nature with others. These features include contact forms, a resource recommendation area, and email subscription forms for a range of publications offered by NWHRC and ARHP. The website also contains "E-mail this page to a friend" functionality to encourage visitors to spread the word in a grass-roots, inexpensive, and often very effective way. All pages are individually optimized for search engines, and meet strict HTML 4.01-transitional compliance standards.
Because of a hard launch deadline imposed by a conference at which the site was to be announced, the entire project was completed in just 4 weeks.
