Project Overview

635 Secure Parking is a secure container parking facility located next to Port Newark in New Jersey.

When shipping containers are unloaded from steamships, they contain all manner of goods: televisions, iPhones, computers, jewelry, and more. Often, businesses to whom these containers will be delivered only accept shipments during specified timeframes. You don’t just park a truck with millions of dollars’ worth of electronics on the street in Newark… hence the need for secure, short-term storage.

When launching their new business, the owners or 635 Secure Parking approached Foraker Labs about building a web application to run all operations. They knew that error-free, secure, and reliable resource management was critical, and also believed that providing real-time reporting to customers would be a competitive advantage.

Foraker Labs developed the initial application in Java, and is currently in the process of porting this system to Ruby on Rails.
