Vegas Mate from Vegas Media Group is an award winning, best-selling travel app for Las Vegas visitors.

After 10 years of publishing hotel, restaurant and show reviews on their popular Web site, RateVegas.com, when the App Store was announced Vegas Media Group knew that it was a perfect platform to take their content to the next level. Vegas Mate premiered in August 2008 and since then it has gone on to sell over 100,000 copies.

Easy, on-the-go access to critical hotel and restaurant information, combined with powerful trip planning features, make Vegas Mate a user favorite. When version 3.0 shipped in December 2010, support for the iPad was added, taking advantage of the extra screen real estate with a whole new interface optimized for that device.

In Vegas Mate, Foraker Labs created a compelling mobile app that has grown as the platform itself has grown. Over three major versions and many smaller revisions, Vegas Mate is constantly updated to take advantage of new device and software features from Apple. That will continue as future versions will include exciting integration with iCloud, Apple’s new Internet-based storage service.

Vegas Mate makes extensive use of location services to inform the user of what is nearby. The app integrates with a Ruby on Rails based Web service to allow users to share comments, ratings and trip information.

Foraker Labs developed the application for iPhone and iPad running Apple’s iOS operating system.
