Challenge
The Boulder Economic Council, an affiliate of the Boulder Chamber of Commerce, is a group of prominent business and community leaders committed to Boulder and its economic well-being.
The Council came to Foraker in search of a revitalized web presence that would be easy to update, and function as a clearinghouse of information for organizations interested in doing business in Boulder.
Client Goals
- Modernize visual design, moving away from the “dated” look of the existing website.
- Improve navigation and organization to allow more fluid access to key information.
- Build a more effective web brand that would help emphasize the technological and artistic strengths of the Boulder business community.
- Improve site traffic and search engine results.
- Improve the flexibility of the website’s CMS and allow for easier expansion over time.
Results
- Foraker worked closely with Council staff to finalize website content—providing usability and marketing guidance along the way.
- Foraker’s creative team then crafted a professional, modern design around the strong messaging of the updated website content.
- Once the graphic design was approved by the client, the website was built on a custom WordPress implementation to allow easy client management of content and flexibility.
- The website features several tag-based content components with useful contextual information like “Did you know?” factoids, news snippets tailored to the section the user is in, and “Success Stories” that rotate on the home page.
- As always, the website is built from Web Standards compliant HTML and CSS, and is accessible, usable, and search engine friendly.
